You do not have to have it all figured out before you call us.
Most people who contact us are in the middle of a difficult situation. Something has changed. A diagnosis. A fall. A discharge from hospital. A realisation that things cannot carry on the way they have been. If that is where you are, this page is for you.
We support adults across Ripon and North Yorkshire who need care and assistance at home. Below is who we work with. If you do not see your situation described, call us anyway. We will listen before we say anything else.
Older People Living at Home
Getting older does not mean giving up your home. For many people, staying at home is not just a preference. It is fundamental to who they are. Their routines, their neighbours, their independence.
We support older people who need some help with daily life but want to stay where they are. That might be personal care in the morning. Help with medication. Someone to make sure the day has some structure and company in it.
We work with adults from 18 upwards, including people in their 80s and 90s who are managing complex health needs at home. Age does not change the standard of care. It just changes what the care looks like.
People Living with Dementia
A dementia diagnosis changes everything. Not just for the person diagnosed, but for everyone around them.
Families often tell us they feel like they are losing someone gradually. That they do not know what to do or who to ask. That they are trying to hold everything together and running out of ways to do it.
We understand dementia care. We understand the importance of routine, familiarity, and calm. We understand that behaviour that looks difficult on the surface usually has a reason behind it. And we understand that the family needs support too, not just the person with the diagnosis.
If you are at the point where you need help, we are here. You do not have to be in crisis before you call.
People with Mental Health Needs
This is an area we know deeply.
Our founder is a Registered Mental Health Nurse who has spent fifteen years working with people living with depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorder, and other complex mental health conditions. She has worked in community psychiatry and CAMHS. She has sat with people at their lowest points and helped them find a way through.
That experience is built into how we work. We do not treat mental health needs as a complication. We do not refer you elsewhere because the situation feels too complex. If you or someone you care for needs support at home that takes mental health seriously, this is the right place.
People with Physical Disabilities
Living with a physical disability does not mean you need someone to take over. It means you need the right support in the right places so you can get on with your life.
We work with people with a range of physical disabilities and long term conditions. Our focus is always on what the person can do and wants to do, not on what they cannot. We help with the practical things that make independence possible. Personal care, mobility support, getting out, staying connected.
People with Sensory Impairments
Living with a visual or hearing impairment brings its own specific challenges at home and in the community. Communication matters. Patience matters. Understanding matters.
We work with people with sensory impairments who need support that is adapted to how they experience the world. We take the time to understand what works for each person before we decide how to help.
Your situation does not have to fit a category.
The sections above describe who we commonly support. They are not a checklist. If you are caring for someone whose needs cross several of these areas, or whose situation does not fit neatly into any of them, that is not unusual. Complex situations are what we were built for. Call us and describe what is happening. We will take it from there.
Call UsIf we cannot help you, we will point you in the right direction.
There are situations we are not able to support, either because they fall outside our regulated activity or because we do not yet have the capacity. If that is the case, we will tell you honestly and point you toward someone who can help. There is no charge for that conversation. We would rather you found the right support than left empty handed.
